Why are compensation and investigation important to the recovery?

As the promise of rain increases there are discussions and actions to get bush-fire affected communities and businesses back on their feet.

What compensation will the Federal government give to fire affected farmers?  What plans do the Federal and State governments have to investigate the bushfires?  How long might real renewal take?
