After their award winning documentary, 'Suddenly, Last Winter', Luca and Gustav are back. This time they have to decide: should they stay in Italy, or leave it, like so many of their friends have done already. Looking at some defining Italian icons, they go on an emotional trip on an old Fiat 500 through Italy, to look behind the clichés and to discover what's left of the famous Italian way of life, confronting a glorious past, a shaky present and an uncertain future.

In a small Italian village by a peaceful lake, a beautiful young woman is found dead. She is naked except for a man’s jacket that has been placed over her lifeless body. Metropolitan Inspector Giovanni Sanzio (Toni Servillo) is called in to investigate and discovers that the circumstances surrounding the victim while she was alive are just as intriguing as her death. Winner of 10 awards at the 2008 David Di Donatello Awards, including Best Film.

Alice is a housewife in a posh part of Rome and a mother to nine-year-old Filippo, enjoying a luxurious home and lifestyle. When her husband dies in a car accident she is left with a massive debt and the risk of losing her son. Desperately in need of cash, and with no skills, Alice turns to the oldest profession in the world: prostitution.

5. A Matter Of Heart

Directed by Francesca Archibugi, with Antonio Albanese, Kim Rossi Stuart and Micaela Ramazzotti - 2009

Garage owner Angelo and big-time film producer Alberto find themselves occupying neighbouring beds in a Rome hospital after suffering heart attacks. Alberto is a gregarious joker - and chain smoker - who has a strong effect on the impressionable Angelo. However, as one of the men's condition deteriorates, the other becomes more deeply involved in his personal life.
