Bourke Street stabbing: One dead, man arrested in Melbourne

A man has been shot by police after lunging at two uniformed officers with a knife near a burning car in Melbourne's Bourke Street Mall.

Victoria Police said one person died at the scene and two people have been taken to hospital.

The suspect has been arrested and is in hospital in a critical condition, under police guard.
