Do you Ride2Work?

National Ride2Work Day is back today, Wednesday 18 October.

Bike riding to work

The 'Sydney Suit Ride' encouraged workers to escape the office for an executive style lunchtime ride around city streets.

Do you ride to work? Today it's National Ride2Work Day, an annual event which tried to encourage Australians to use their bikes to go to school or work. "Riding to work is one of the easiest and most time-efficient ways to fit exercise into a daily routine" explains the event's website: according to the key findings from the Austroads 2017 Participation Survey 15.5% of Australians ride a bicycle in a typical week, and more than a third had done so in the past year.
"This equates to around 3.74 million Australians riding in a typical week, and 8.23 million doing so over a year" Austroads 2017 Participation Survey
The survey also underlines that there has been a decline in the cycling participation rate, "from 18.2% in 2011, to 15.5% in 2017."

Do you ride to work? And if you don't, what would encourage you to do it?
