Giuseppe Bertinazzo: the father of the Western Australia Opera

While enjoying a successful and distinguished career at the famous La Scala theatre in Milan, Italian tenor Giuseppe Bertinazzo asked Dame Joan Sutherland information about Western Australia, a place he dreamed of visiting. Dame Joan said: "There is no opera company in Western Australia", to which Bertinazzo replied: "If there is not one, than I will create it". And so he did.
