Rosa Campagnaro is the founder and director of Make a Scene, a Melbourne-based theatre company offering drama activities for children and teen-agers, also in schools.
After studying Commedia dell'arte in Italy, Rosa worked as a teacher in Melbourne for several years. However, in 2004 she decided to leave her teaching position to start her own theatre company.
Ho messo insieme le mie due passioni: quella per il teatro e quella per l'insegnamento" (It was a crazy move, I left a secure job, but I felt I needed to do it. I put together my two passions: theatre and teaching)
A long and difficult journey started, but one offering plenty of satisfaction, as Rosa told us in this interview by Francesca Valdinoci.
Rosa's motto? Perseverance. The results don't come straight away, it is necessary to be patient and never give up. It took 10 years for Rosa to reach a certain degree of security.
Time is on your side: if you cannot realise a project now, you can do it in one, two or even five years, but it finally becomes reality)
