Tim Parks: "Brexit is beginning of the end for EU"

The Manchester-born author, described as one of the best living writers, is down under for the first time.

An acclaimed author of novels and short stories, Tim Parks is one of 20 International guests at the 2016 Melbourne Writers Festival. This coming weekend, Parks will be attending a series of events at the ACMI Cinema, including a conversation on "What makes a marriage work - or fall apart?" on Friday September 2nd at 2.30pm and a Q&A on Sunday 4th at 10am.

A novelist, essayist, travel writer and translator based in Verona, Tim Parks will also talk about his A literary tour of Italy, a volume containing a selection of his best essays on the literature of his adopted country.

In this interview, he talks about Brexit and Italy PM Matteo Renzi's reaction to the recent earthquake in central Italy.
