A new report by Bloomberg has revealed the world’s 10 best and worst performing airlines of 2016. The lists are based on data collected from a number of sources - including flight-tracking and positional services, airport runway times, radar services, airline records and airport data - which is compiled every year by aviation insights company FlightStats.

FlightStats Vice President Jim Hetzel told Bloomberg, “We stitch data together from 500 different sources. We’ve built the technology and logic to sort that out and validate information across multiple sources. It’s a pretty interesting process.”

While KLM, flag carrier airline of the Netherlands made it to the top of the list of best airlines, Israel’s EL AI made it to the top of the list of worst international airline.
India’s national carrier, Air India came in on Number 3 spot on the worst international airline in the world while Australia’s Qantas figured at Number 10 spot on the list of best international airline in the world. Air India disagreed with the above assessment, spokesperson Dhananjay Kumar said in a statement.
