35-year-old Renato Menegaldo studied as an electronic expert, but, like many other Italians of his generation, once arrived in Sydney he "reinvented himself" and today works as a restaurant manager in a well-known Bondi Beach restaurant. A few weeks ago - precisely on July 18 - after years of "patient waiting", as he himself told us, he obtained the long-awaited permanent residence.
