The Earth is flat, Australia does not exist, we never landed on the Moon, chemtrails are a reality, vaccines are harmful, and so on.
These are just some of the fanciful theories that, thanks also to social media, have taken hold in a growing fringe of the population, although there is no scientific evidence to support them.
The Italian television program "The Hyenas" has sent a reporter to a convention of Italian flatearthers to investigate what makes them tick.
But what drives these people to give credit to such theories? We asked the author of the reportage, Gaston Zama.
