Chieko Ono, a Japanese-born, Italian-based academic, is currently in Australia. Cheiko has directed numerous courses of 15th century Italian dance around the world and since 1993 she has been the director of historic dance company "Belreguardo" and cultural association "Il Convivio" in Assisi. In Sydney she will conduct Renaissance dance courses at the Italian Institute of Culture. We asked first how her interest in Italian culture and dance came about.
