The first Australia exhibition dedicated to Italian artist Carlo Ciussi.
"Geometric emotions" presents six aquatint graphics by Carlo Ciussi. From the early 90s onwards, Ciussi's works are characterized by a broken sign, which becomes a fragment of line. The lines can be liquid or obfuscated, static or dynamic and small or large. The rhythm becomes urgent, the corners acute while the color fades. In these latest graphic experiments (2006 and 2012), there is a breath and a lightness from poetic composition. Roberta Crisci, Lecturer in Art History at the Federation University of Ballarat, spoke with us about this figure and his contribution to the History of Italian Art.
"Geometric emotions" opens on July 28 from 4 to 6 pm and will remain on display until September 29 at the Bini Gallery, 62 Smith Street, Collingwood.
