Victorian businesses, the state opposition, the federal government and Victoria's former health minister Jenny Mikakos have all criticised a decision by Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews to put a 'cautious pause' on easing restrictions.

Mr Andrews says restrictions could still be wound back by the 1st of November, as more time is needed to see the full test results of the outbreak in Melbourne's northern suburbs.

People in Australia must stay at least 1.5 metres away from others. Check your state’s restrictions on gathering limits.

If you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, stay home and arrange a test by calling your doctor or contact the Coronavirus Health Information Hotline on 1800 020 080.
