The Sicilian muso returns to Australia and will be playing at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.

After his Australian debut at the Umbria Jazz in Melbourne 2005, saxophonist Francesco Cafiso returns to Australia to be part of the jazz event of the year, under the patronage of the Italian Cultural Institute in Melbourne.

A child prodigy who started playing at 9, Cafiso burst on to the worldwide jazz scene after being discovered in his teens by Wynton Marsalis, going on to perform with heavyweights such as Dave Brubeck, Joe Lovano and Christian McBride. Now, at only 28, he has come into his own as a player, composer, and arranger who not only has mastered the great American art of jazz but has found his own voice in it.
