Saturday at 11.25pm on SBS - Robert Redford's The West

Actor and host Robert Redford captures the incredible sweep of one of America's most turbulent periods: from the post-Civil War to the closing of the Western Frontier, portraying the remarkable real-life stories behind the infamous Wild West legends: men like Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Wyatt Earp, Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull and George Custer. The Civil War ends in 1865, and America looks West to repair the nation. As unrest in the South continues, rebel fighter Jesse James becomes a politically-minded outlaw fighting to rekindle the flames of the Confederacy. Out West, conflict with the Sioux Indian leaders Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse threaten America's continued expansion. Crazy Horse makes his stand against the US military at the Battle of 100 Slain, triggering another war.

Saturday at 11.40pm on World Movies - Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

When a politician's daughter steals a legendary warrior's precious sword, a sequence of events is triggered to recover the sword, which leads to a deadly encounter with the thief's witch-like minder. From renowned director Ang Lee, the film received four Academy Awards in 2001, including Best Foreign Language Film and Best Cinematography. Stars Chow Yun-Fat, Michelle Yeoh, Zhang Ziyi and Chang Chen.

Sunday at 7.00pm on SBS Food - Bonacini's Italy

Michael celebrates Tuscany's fine cuisine with four of his favourite dishes, including mushroom soup, lamb ragu, porchetta-style duck, and a creamy coffee custard.

Sunday at 9.30pm on SBS Food - Gino's Italian Escape

Gino D’Acampo’s Italian Escape continues in the country’s capital. As a chef, Gino has always been inspired by Rome and its cuisine. His first stop is at one of the city’s finest delis, where he is on the hunt for succulent pancetta to make a traditional pasta carbonara. Armed with not only the deli’s pancetta, but with the luscious cured meat ‘guanciale’, he decides to cook his pasta in front of Rome’s iconic Colosseum. Keen to explore the outskirts of the city, Gino travels to Ariccia - a town that is passionate about porchetta - slow roasted, moist, boneless pork stuffed with seasoning and rosemary. Naturally, he has to sample this succulent treat, which must traditionally be enjoyed in rustic bread. Gino’s final port of call outside the city is a restaurant belonging to Anna Dente, a chef who has been keeping authentic Roman recipes alive for 40 years. In Anna’s garden, Gino shows off his Roman-inspired dish of pan-fried lamb in rosemary and honey sauce, with fennel salad.

In this dramatic thriller, at a turning point in his life, a former tennis pro falls for a femme-fatal type who happens to be dating his friend and soon-to-be brother-in-law. The two embark on an illicit affair which ultimately leads to dire consequences for them and their partners. Directed by Woody Allen. Starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Emily Mortimer.

Wednesday at 7.30pm on SBS Food - Sicily With Aldo And Enzo

Fusion food is not a new concept but when food and music are brought together then the result is the very Sicillian pasta dish, Spaghetti ala Norma. With the Greek temple of Segesta as an impressive back drop, Aldo and Enzo create a dish fit for an opera, the Sicilian opera Norma that is and then offer it to a world renowned opera singer

Thursday at 12.05pm on SBS Food - Italian Food Safari

This episode celebrates the tradition of preserving the best in season. Maeve meets Pietro Demaio whose book 'Preserving the Italian Way' has been a bestseller. In Adelaide, Pat D'Onofrio and Lina Verrilli grow and cure their own olives; and Claudio Ferraro shows how to make pastry sfogliatelle with fine layers of pastry filled with ricotta. Later, Guy spends a few winter days with the Momesso family making salami.
