In our series on Italophiles who don't have an Italian background we meet Siobhan Hannan.

Siobhan Hannan learnt Italian during a trip to Europe with her parents and sisters: they spent some time in the Veneto region with the family of her father's good friend Sergio De Pieri, brother of Mildura chef Stefano.

Her love of the language was then nourished and strengthened by further studies and her marriage to an Italian-Australian. Keen to expose her kids to the Italian language, Siobhan later founded the Italian Kindergarten at North West Brunswick Kindergarten, in Melbourne.
