Conductor Carlo Goldstein continues in the 21s century the illustrious family tradition of producing famous italian musicians and artists going back to the 18th century. His great-grandfather was the famous violinist, composer and music writer Cesare Barison who, after WWII, became the successful manager of the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi of war-torn Trieste. His great-great-granfather was the famous painter Giuseppe Barison.
Born in Trieste, Carlo Golstein is in Australia for the first time to conduct Bizet's Carmen at Sydney's Opera House. In this converstation maestro Goldstein opens up on his development from young pianist to the internationally renowned conductor he is today.
