The International Classification of Sleep Disorders shows that there are about 88 problems related to the impossibility of having a good rest.

Dr. Antonio Ambrogetti, an expert on respiratory diseases and sleep disorders, explains sleep problems are mostly related to the irregularity of our biological clock.

Although it is true that for most of the population eight hours of sleep are necessary, the rhythm for optimal sleep varies among people. There are the so-called long sleepers, equal to about 2% of the population who genetically need at least nine hours of sleep a night, and the so-called short sleepers, which instead have enough with only 6 hours of sleep to have a good rest.

Among the most common myths related to having a good rest, in addition to the classic: "I go to sleep early so, I rest more", there are those about doing physical activity in the evening. According to many, in fact, the gym is to be avoided in the evening but, as Dr. Ambrogetti explains, it is actually a false problem.

His advice to reconcile sleep after exercise? Take a warm bath, it will help reduce the body temperature that rises with training, causing difficulty in falling asleep.
