In 2003 journalist Max Civili and photographer Elio Loccisano travelled aboard the Indian Pacific, the train that runs from Sydney to Perth, crossing all of central Australia.
In this series, previously broadcast on SBS Radio Italian, Max and Elio met many Italians who live and work in the Outback and in the most remote areas of the country. In this first episode, the departure from Sydney and the arrival at Broken Hill, a mining town 1100 km away.
