The second stage of the "Italian Diasporas" symposium took place in recent days in New York, after a first stage in Melbourne last April.

The initiative dedicated to Italian emigration in the world is organised by the Italian Museum of Melbourne’s CoAsIt, Genoa’s Museums of the Sea and the Migrations and the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute, which hosted this second stage at its headquarters.

We talked about it in New York with Paolo Baracchi, head of cultural projects at Melbourne’s CoAsIt and regarded by most of the participants as the true architect of the collaboration at the base of this symposium that united the three institutions, and Pierangelo Campodonico, director of the Sea and Migration Museums.
