Premier-Designate Giuseppe Conte resigned after Italian President Sergio Mattarella refused to approve the choice of an economy minister - Paolo Savona - who has expressed anti-euro views.


President Sergio Mattarella maintains the appointment of Giuseppe Conte would have 'alarmed markets and investors, Italians and foreigners.'
