The municipality of Rome, led by 5 Star Movement Mayor Virginia Raggi, is in turmoil after rubbish continues to disfigure the city despite a change of government. Councillor Paola Muraro has accused what she called the "old system" to have a plan against those who want to change things at AMA, the city waste management company, while opposition parties have in turn accused Muraro to have a clear conflict of interest, having previously served as a highly-paid adviser for AMA. M5S Lower House whip, Laura Castelli, has rejected the accusations.
