In recent days, both the former PM, Matteo Renzi, and the leader of Forza Italia, Silvio Berlusconi, gave interviews on the forthcoming elections political scenarios. We asked Matteo Vergani, a researcher at Deakin University, to summarise the positions of the two leaders and to interpret the political repercussions of a judgment by the Constitutional Court on the Union referendum calling for the abolition of certain provisions contained in the "Jobs Act", the law on industrial relations enacted by the Renzi government.
