DEM assembly voted and Senator Francesco Giacobbe told us how it went.
The DEM assembly was held on July, 7th. Maurizio Martina was elected as the new the new secretary of the Democratic Party. The work of the assembly was opened by Matteo Renzi, who analyzed the reasons for the electoral defeat in 10 points. A vote almost unanimously for Martina, with only 7 against and 13 abstentions, while Renzi's speech has caused several rifts, as expected. But the vote is timed, given that the next congress will start in October and the primaries date seems to be set for the beginning of 2019 - perhaps 23 February - to be ready for the European elections. What party is then the PD, 4 months after the election blow? We talked with the PD Senator Francesco Giacobbe.
