October is the month dedicated to mental health in Australia, a country where it is still necessary to o fight the social stigma that surrounds mental health issues.

According to data published by the World Health Organization in 2017, 177 out of 194 member states, including Australia, reported progress in implementing the global mental health action plan for 2013-2020.

But, as emphasized in the organization's Mental Health Atlas 2017, global goals can only be achieved if there is a collective commitment, substantial investments and the implementation of policies, laws, programs and mental health services in all states.

If you need support, you can contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or beyondblue on 1 300 22 4636.
