Giuseppe Brissoni arrived in Australia from Bergamo in 1961 with the ship "Aurelia". After spending a few months in the camps of Bonegilla and Matraville, he worked as a sugarcane and tobacco farmer and then relocated to Papua New Guinea where he held the post of Honorary Consul.
