Victoria's Premier has secured a six-month extension to state of emergency powers to allow for public health directions against coronavirus.
There were 20 votes in favour and 19 against when the legislation passed Victorian Parliament early this morning (Wednesday).

Daniel Andrews originally proposed a 12 month extension but won half of that time frame with support from the Reason Party, Animal Justice party and a Greens MP.
Melbourne is in a stage four COVID-19 lockdown until September the 13th and plans for the easing of restrictions will be released this Sunday.
