As of tomorrow, stricter rules will be imposed on residents living in Victoria's border areas in order to cross the border with South Australia, while it has been announced that international travellers may not be admitted to Australia until mid 2021.
Prime Minister Morrison said he is working directly with state leaders, but also called for border restrictions to be more flexible to minimise inconvenience to the community.
Residents in metropolitan Melbourne are subject to stay-at-home orders and can only leave home for food and essential supplies, work, study, exercise or care responsibilities. People are also advised to wear masks in public.
