Nonne and grandkids, a special relationship

Italian grandmothers are celebrated among grandmas from other cultures in a special initiative.

Featuring stories of grandmothers from across Melbourne, Multicultural Museums Victoria (MMV) presents ‘Grandmothers’: five extraordinary exhibitions celebrate accomplishments, wisdom and the central role of the grandmother in Chinese, Italian, Greek, Muslim and Jewish communities.

At Museo Italiano in Carlton the photographic exhibition "Nonne: images through generations" can be viewed until August 24.

We caught up with Laura Mecca, co-curator and a proud nonna herself.
