Turkey's government has withdrawn a controversial law that would allow men convicted of sexual assault to be pardoned if they marry their underage victims. In the meantime Turkey has dismissed close to 15,000 civil servants, military officials, police and others as part of investigations into a failed coup attempt earlier this year.
