Russian President Vladimir Putin was officially nominated for the upcoming country elections, while his main rival, Alexei Navalny, will not be able to participate in the vote due to a conviction for embezzlement.
Navalny reacted by launching an appeal to Russians to boycott the vote. As our Moscow correspondent, Giuseppe D'Amato, reports, with Navalny out of the way, Putin will be able to consolidate his power in the country.
