There are 26,000 species worldwide in the orchid family, 1,400 of which inhabit Australia. The dry environment and vast distances, made the native species' impollination techniques extremely refined, in some aspects almost human-like. Researcher Daniela Scaccabarozzi tells us more about the 'love of the orchids' and how love itself was the reason for her to move from Naples to Perth.
