Australia's campaign at the football World Cup is over. A two-nil defeat to Peru, coupled with Denmark's draw with Group leader France sealed their fate.

It was Australia's last game in the group stage at Russia 2018 but, they dreamed, not their last game overall at their fifth World Cup. However, soon after kickoff in Sochi, the Socceroos' dreams gave way to harsh reality. Australia barely allowed Peru a chance early ... until the 18th minute.
