The Aquarius ship, carrying 629 people in board, was at the centre of the unprecedented decision to close Italian ports.


After a vessel carrying more than 600 migrants rescued from the sea by MSF and Sos Mediterranée was refused permission to dock by Italy and Malta, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said would allow the Aquarius to dock in Valencia. We asked our audience what they think of the stance of Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, who closed Italian ports saying "Italy and Sicily cannot be Europe's refugee camp".
