Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has handed down a pre-election budget for the Coalition government, a month earlier than usual.


Josh Frydenberg has announced a budget surplus of $7.1 billion, for the first time in 12 years. Is this only political propaganda, given that the elections will be very soon, or indeed can the current government praise this result? We discussed the point with the UNSW Professor of Finance in Canberra, Max Tani.
