Genoa's judiciary decided to ask the League to give the funds back.
Between 2018 and 2010, the League submitted false reports to the Parliament, to obtain public funds for an amount of almost € 49 million. The investigation had exploded in 2012; as a result former secretary, Umberto Bossi, and some other leading figures of the party were sentenced for fraud against the State. Now there is a new chapter in the war between the public prosecutors of Genoa and the League: those funds, they say, must be given back.
Matteo Salvini says that the money has been spent and talks about a "political process". We asked the Senator of the Lega, Paolo Arrigoni, how these money were spent and by whom.
