During the first day of the Stati Generali della Lingua Italiana, currently being held in Florence, Italian has been celebrated as the fourth most studied language in the world. Cristiana Palmieri has just finished her University of Sydney's PhD, which explored what motivates people who do not have an Italian background to study our language.
