The so-called "dignity decree" has been approved by the Italian Senate.
The Five Star Movement and its political leader, Luigi Di Maio, were strongly in favour of the bill, but the League, M5S's other government partner, had not initially expressed a great enthusiasm towards it.
We asked League Senator, Paolo Arrigoni, how the yes vote by both government parties was achieved and to which parts of the law the League believes to have made the necessary changes to warrant its approval.
