A proposed course in "Western Civilisation" is causing controversy at The University of Sydney.
On October 29 (Monday) staff members of The University of Sydney organised an open event to protest the proposed new course in "Western civilisation", promoted and sponsored by private entity The Ramesey Center for Western Civilisation.
Lucia Sobrera, Senior Lecturer and Chair of Arabic Studies Department is among the promoters of the event. She spoke with SBS Italian, explaining the reasons of her opposition to the proposed new degree.
The Ramesey Center for Western Civilisation declined to comment on the matter.
