"I wanted to visit Melbourne after my move to the Gold Coast. But I couldn't because of the coronavirus outbreak."

Ms. Noriko Sekine, a Japanese illustrator in the Gold Coast, draws anime illustrations under the pen-name of Kurumi Torii.

Ms. Sekine moved to the Gold Coast from Melbourne last year.  She used to go to the annual Melbourne Japanese Summer Festival while she was there, and this year, she will join the festival as an instructor and teach how to draw an anime illustration online.

In the audio, Ms. Sekine explains to us what her online class would be like and how she started drawing illustrations.

The Melbourne Japanese Summer Festival 2021 will be held on the 28th of February and will go digital for the first time.
