Kai and Saya Sakakibara are BMX athletes, achieving astonishing results not just at domestic races, but also at international championships. They currently hold the Australian national title.


Born to Japanese mother and English father, brother and sister Kai and Saya are BMX atheletes representing Australia at world's stage. They have competed since they were small. They have always loved riding BMX, though Saya was rather pushed into the sport as their parents were busy driving her big brother to different races and practices every weekend. They are currently dedicating their time and effort for winning gold at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

Kai and Saya speak to SBS about what it is like to be BMX atheletes and what their ultimate goals are at the Tokyo 2020.
