China celebrates 100 years since the Communist Party's founding

China is marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of its ruling communist party.

The milestone's brought a sense of solidarity among its people at a time when China faces critical  challenges from the outside world.

But China experts say underneath the jovial celebrations is a government anxious to maintain control of its people.
