Global temperatures are set to rise by more than 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels


One of the agreements in COP21 in Paris was

'Holding the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and pursuing efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels'

According to WMO report, the chance of exceeding the benchmark 1.5 degrees threshold between now and 2027 is 66%.
