Ryota Aoki and Gentaro Yokoyama are leading contemporary ceramic artists in Japan. They are having their first exhibition in Australia at The Japan Foundation Sydney as a part of the Foundation's program titled Breaking the Mould. Unlike other Japanese traditional ceramic artists who receive training from an early age in a small and often exclusive industry community, Ryota started training after graduating from university and Gentaro started his in the United States.
