Past several months, numerous prefectures visited Melbourne, and Australia for their business trips. There have been numbers of showcases and events to promote Japan and its products and destinations.

Past several months, numerous prefectures visited Melbourne, and Australia for their business trips. There have been numbers of showcases and events to promote Japan and its products and destinations.


Gifu Prefecture showcased their authentic Japanese premier beef Hida Beef and PRed their beautiful travel destination in Melbourne, and 2 months later, Ehime Prefecture did another event collaborating with Japanese Sake and Coffee brought their proud citrus fruits and promoted their products and attractive destinations. On 6th Dec celebrating the birthday of the emperor of Japan, the consulate of Japan in Melbourne hosted an event for VIP guests showcasing products of various prefectures and a city - namely Gifu, Ehime, Okayama, Kagoshima, Okinawa, and the City of Izumino of Nagano Prefecture along with the general areas of Kansai (Western Japan) - including Osaka.

From 16th to 19th December, the mayor Osaka City shall visit Melbourne to celebrate their 40th anniversary as sister cities.

Food, culture, people and tourism have been showcased in Melbourne by various prefectures and delegations, as well as the people behind the scene helping and striving to understand each other - Australia and Japan, making efforts to communicating and building business relationships and beyond.
