After more than 70 years, Australia has agreed to return thousands of Japanese documents seized during World War Two. Broadcast on the 23rd of November, 2017.


It is the National Archives' largest handover of records and is being touted as a significant step in Australia's relationship with Japan.

Much has changed in the relationship between Japan and Australia since they were World War Two enemies decades ago.

Now, another step along the path of international partnership has seen Australia officially return documents seized from Japanese-run businesses during that period.
