Ms Riho Okagami, a Sydney-based Japanese author of the book The Phoenix of Central Europe, 1000 Years of the History of Unbreakable Poland, published in 2019.
The year of 2019 marked the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Poland.
In 2020, for delivering knowledge about the history of Poland to Japanese audience, Ms Riho Okagami was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit, the highest Cross of Merit by the government of Poland.
Ms Okagami went to Poland to study after graduating from an university in Japan and emigrated to Australia in 1988.
