The 30th International Japanese-English Translation Conference (IJET-30) was held in Cairns, Queensland.

IJET is an annual international conference held by the Japan Association of Translators (JAT) from Japan.  For translators who tend to work by themselves,  IJET has been a great opportunity to network.

This year's IJET-30 marked the 30th anniversary and about 120 people attended the conference.  The last time IJET was held in Australia was 10 years ago, IJET-20 in Sydney.

In the audio, three IJET-30 attendees share their experience at the conference and their insights as experienced Japanese-English translators in Australia.

These three attendees are:

■Rumiko Mori-Kerr

Hideaki Maruoka   Former President of JAT

Tony Atkinson  President of JAT

(no particular order)

JAT is hosting next year's conference, IJET-31, in Japan.
