Makoto Tanaka, a Sydney-based Japanese singer, will perform for the Matsuri Japan Festival in Chatswood on the 18th of December.

Mr Tanaka came to Australia in 1994.  He has been performing for events and functions for the Japanese community in Sydney since.

Mr Tanaka has been one of the regular performers for Sydney's Matsuri Japanese Festival in Darling Harbour, which becomes the biggest Japanese festival in southern hemisphere, since its early days.  However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, the well-loved festival abruptly had to take a 2-year-long pause.

Now Mr Tanaka is preparing for his stage on the 18th, after those years.  In the audio, Mr Tanaka talks about the "evolution" of Japanese festivals in Sydney and his feelings towards the comeback.
