Dr Hajime Yamauchi immigrated to Australia in 1996 and has been in Bunbury, Western Australia for twenty years.


Dr Yamauchi worked as a medical doctor in Japan but decided to put his career on hold and immigrate to Australia with his family. At that time, his son was only one year old.

Dr Yamauchi also has participated in the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition as a medical doctor and visited the Antarctic four times.


In the audio,  he tells us how his family ended up living in Bunbury and shares his experience in the Antarctic with us.

Dr Yamauchi has been sharing his experience both in Australia and the Antarctica with young doctors, medical students and general public in Japan through online seminars.
